drBirdPhilip C. Bird, M.D., F.A.C.G.

Diplomate — American Board of Internal Medicine & Gastroenterology

Dr. Bird is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. He has been caring for patients in Norman since 1977.

He is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American Board of Internal Medicine in the subspecialty of Gastroenterology. He is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.

Other memberships include the Arkansas-Oklahoma Endoscopic Society, American College of Physicians, William Beaumont Endoscopic Society, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American and International Societies of Internal Medicine. Dr. Bird is also a member of the Cleveland/McClain County Medical Society, the Oklahoma State Medical Association, and the American Medical Association.

He has been invited to present lectures on his specialty at meetings of professional organizations, and his research has been published in several medical journals.

drAroraSteve K. Arora, M.D., F.A.C.G.

Dr. Arora received his medical degree from Maharishi Dayanand University Medical College and Hospital in Rohtak, India. He did his internal medicine residency at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York. Following his residency, he completed a two-year fellowship in hypertension at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and a three-year fellowship in gastroenterology at the Mount Sinai/Bronx VA Medical Center in New York.

Besides taking care of stomach ulcers and colon cancer, Dr. Arora has experience in the management and care of ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease patients. He also treats patients with liver and gallbladder diseases.

He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. His memberships include the American Medical Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the Oklahoma State Medical Association.

drParikhChintan A. Parikh, M.D.

Diplomate — American Board of Internal Medicine & Gastroenterology

Dr. Parikh received his medical degree from Municipal Medical College in Ahmedabad, India. He did his primary care internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Elmhurst, New York. Following his residency, Dr. Parikh served as chief medical resident at Mount Sinai School of Medicine at Elmhurst Hospital Center, and was a teaching assistant at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York, New York. He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the OU Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.

His major interests are inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and liver problems. He has presented GI-related research papers at national conferences.

Dr. Parikh is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. His memberships include the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Physicians, and the Oklahoma State Medical Association.

drBlackAndrew W. Black, M.D.

Diplomate — American Board of Internal Medicine & Gastroenterology

Dr. Black received his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He did his internal medicine residency and fellowship in gastroenterology at the former New York Hospital — Cornell in New York, NY, now known as New York Presbyterian-Weill-Cornell Medical Center.

Dr. Black began his practice in November 2002 at GI Consultants of Hollywood in Hollywood, Florida, where he received repeated "Top Docs" and "Outstanding Physician" awards. He came to Oklahoma and joined GI of Norman in June 2006.

He has presented many GI-related research papers at national conferences.

drTranTony H. Tran, M.D.

Dr. Tran received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency and fellowship in gastroenterology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
